THE OSCARS 2019 LOOKBACK

Sunday night saw the return of one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the film and celeb world, and whilst we were eager to see which films would take home the most statuettes and whether Leonardo DiCaprio would finally win his first Oscar (boo, we were rooting for you, Leo!), we couldn’t help but have our eyes glued to the red carpet to see who should have taken home an award for best dressed. Here are some of our top picks from the event:

Emma Watson in Vera Wang
Emma Watson is always one of the first people we look out for on the red carpet. With a stunning face and a simple-but-classy sense of style, she always looks polished and Sunday night was no different as she showed up in this lovely Vera Wang number.

Giuliana Rancic
Of course, when you are presenting the red carpet fashion on live television, you want to look good yourself, and Giuliana Rancic didn’t fail to impress us looking like she had just stepped out of a fairytale in this whimsical dress by Paolo Sebastian. We are in love with the bodice detailing!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture
Our favorite girl, Jennifer Lawrence opted for a plain and simple dress, but she still looked like a girl on fire in this bright red/orange peplum number by Dior Couture. Spotted earlier in a more casual Dior dress and Gucci sunglasses, she was quite the belle this year.

Karen O in Camilla Staerk and Brandy St John
Doesn’t Karen O just scream “Old Hollywood Glamour” in this Camilla Staerk dress? The sleek and sophisticated shape does wonders for her figure and we love the added sexiness of the plunging neckline and the cape detailing.

Lupita Nyong’O in Prada
Ahh, can this girl do no wrong?! Lupita Nyong’o wowed us in an amazing red Ralph Lauren dress back at the Golden Globes earlier this year, and now she’s doing it again in this pale blue number by Prada. Sorry- “Nairobi Blue”, as Lupita has named it, because it reminded her of the colour of her classroom walls from her school days in Nairobi. Cute!

Portia De Rossi in Naeem Khan
How amazing did Portia De Rossi look in this dress?! Hats off to designer Naeem Khan for creating this beauty- the intricate laser-cut detailing is to die for!

Kate Hudson in Versace
Kate Hudson looked like a million dollars, dazzling away like a diamond in this silver Versace number. Like Karen O, she was rocking a plunging neckline, form-fitting shape and the cape detailing- We’re seeing a trend here!

Sally Hawkins in Valentino
Finally, Sally Hawkins went all out on the embellishments in true Oscar’s style (so would we!) in this bedazzling Valentino dress. Stunning!
